Now the deepest lesson
Struggling to be embodied and seeking to be grounded...
Now the deepest lesson
When we turned our faces
toward power in the sky and strained
to be where we imagined he was,
we turned our backs
on the One who seeks nothing more
than to be here among us,
within us, our beating heart.
The name I give you
is water held in my hands,
reflecting my face for a moment
but never remaining,
always running through my fingers.
I heal more from the stone
and the fire, my feet on the earth,
the touch of rain on my lips,
than I ever do from
throwing prayers into the sky.
Now the deepest lesson:
I can trust being an incarnation.
--Stuart HigginbothamI leave on Monday with a group for a week in Greece, on a pilgrimage to explore the writings and life of St. Paul. We will also visit the Oracle of Delphi, the ancient site of prophecy and vision. My heart has been pulled there for years, to the ancient site that honored the presence of the Earth Mother, Gaia/Ge.
I have now gone into a deep period of reflection, listening to the call to experience/know/TRUST what it means to be embodied.
Now, we prepare to see what the Spirit will invite us to experience.
Blessings, always,
Stuart
